Sea-Level Rise (SLR) – Vulnerability Assessments (VA)

Climate Change Adaptation

Delivering SLR Vulnerability Assessments and Adaptation Planning

SLR-VA

SLR-VA is an evaluation of remedy or asset vulnerability to the impacts of sea level rise, specifically, increased surface water inundation from daily tides and storm surges and groundwater rise or emergence. Our experts have supported private industrial clients and public agencies in developing climate change and SLR resilience projects throughout California.

Our expertise spans local and regional scales, involving vulnerability assessments and quantifying potential impacts at contaminated sites and landfills, wastewater treatment plants and conveyance facilities, stormwater management facilities, and shoreline-adjacent areas. We have developed green infrastructure and nature-based solutions in conjunction with our civil engineers to address fluvial and coastal hazards, with a focus on managing SLR-induced groundwater rise and emergence.
