Jeff Wallace, RG, PG, LHG, Joins Terraphase as Principal Geologist

Jeff Wallace, RG, PG, LHG, has joined Terraphase as Principal Geologist in our Portland office. Jeff has over 25 years of experience in environmental cleanup activities: remedial investigations, feasibility studies, and remedial action projects that commonly involve multidisciplinary teams and varied stakeholders. His has directed independent site investigations and state and federal (CERCLA) lead remedial investigation and feasibility study (RI/FS) projects for private and public sector clients; RCRA closures; human and ecological risk assessments; and remedial design and construction projects for upland and sediment sites at a variety of industrial/manufacturing sites; operating/closed landfills; Department of Defense civil works and active/former military sites; active and legacy mine sites, and USEPA-funded and other brownfield properties. He routinely represents clients in technical meetings and in regulatory agency negotiations, and provides strategic advice to help achieve and optimize client long-term environmental goals for cleanup sites.

Jeff has experience with many aspects of groundwater studies including conceptual model development, site investigation planning and execution, and chemical and hydrogeological data interpretation. He has directed groundwater investigations and compliance monitoring programs in the Pacific Northwest for the past two decades, and advised on humanitarian aid groundwater development projects in developing countries.

Jeff has managed or participated in over 200 due-diligence projects for a wide variety of industrial facilities, and has conducted numerous evaluations of potential liabilities associated with upland and in-water contamination to inform acquisitions, insurance cost recovery claims, and fair-value estimates for financial reporting compliance. As part of contaminated sediment projects, Jeff has directed RI/FS work, time-critical and non-time critical removal actions, sediment dredging design analysis, development of plans and specifications for sediment remediation, water quality monitoring programs during dredging.
