Michael J. Messina, joins Terraphase as Principal Scientist. Mr. Messina brings over 16 years of experience across diverse disciplines providing corporate and government clients with environmental consulting services. His work has focused on environmental compliance, including regulatory interpretation and application, auditing, environmental litigation support, and environmental systems management. His goal is to support clients in navigating their environmental challenges through creative and cost-effective solutions. His environmental compliance experience has included regulations and programs related to water quality (drinking, waste and storm), hazardous waste disposal and management, air quality, Spill Prevention and Control and Countermeasure programs, asbestos and lead-based paint assessments and management, NEPA/CEQA permitting, fuel-storage-tank management, and related environmental stewardship programs. He has also led environmental projects for facility/property environmental closure, due diligence, soil and groundwater investigations and remediation, and response actions related to contamination release.
Over the past decade, Mr. Messina has represented telecommunication utilities, international freight carriers, commercial retailers, municipalities, industrial manufacturing, urban redevelopment agencies, school districts, tribal nations, and federal, state and local agencies.
