Terraphase Prepares Pipeline Risk Assessments for Multiple School Districts in California

February 2014   |   General News

Over the last 12 months, Terraphase has prepared pipeline risk assessments for the Monterey Office of Education, the Somis Union Elementary School District, the Visalia Unified School District, and the Martinez Unified School District. The risk assessments were conducted in accordance with the California Department of Education (CDE) protocol for pipeline risk assessments. In addition to hazardous materials pipelines and high-pressure natural-gas transmission pipelines, school districts are required to consider large-diameter water pipelines and large-capacity water-storage tanks in selecting school sites. Based on Terraphase’s analysis, one of our clients was able to obtain, by consent, $4.5 million in hardship funds from the State Allocation Board because of unacceptable pipeline risks.
